Picking the NBA West All Star Starters for 2024

With the NBA All-Star weekend approaching in mid-February. The NBA has released a

portal for fans to select who they believe should participate in the 2024 NBA All-Star

game. In this article, I will be reviewing who I believe should be the All-Star starters for

the All-Star game

West

West Guards

1.  Stephen Curry

2. Shai-Gilgeous Alexander (SGA)

Starting off, Stephen Curry is my first pick for the West Guards. This year, he is scoring

26.7 points per game with a field goal percentage of 44.3%. While his team is sub

.500 in wins this year, it has mainly been due to struggles from his teammate Klay

Thompson and Andrew Wiggins, as well as other problems. In addition, he is leading

the league in 3-point shots made with 164 shots.

Shai Gilgeous Alexander has been a critical player for the Oklahoma City Thunder

(OKC). this season. While leading the league in steals per game, SGA has scored a

whopping. 31.5 points per game on 55.8% field goal percentage. His skills and

leadership, have enabled his team to have the second seed in the Western conference

West Forwards

1. LeBron James

2. Nikola Jokic

3. Kevin Durant

First, LeBron James is my first pick for the West Forwards. LeBron James will soon

eclipse 40,000 career points as he can score the basketball frequently. Even though

he is only scoring 24.7 points per game; his athletic ability, even at the age of 39,

forces defenders to gravitate toward him and leave other forwards open.

Nikola Jokic has played an essential role in getting the Denver Nuggets (DEN) into

a contender for the playoffs. The Denver Nuggets are currently the 3rd seed

in the Western Conference. The former MVP has been nearly averaging a triple-double

scoring 25.5 PPG (points per game), 11.5 RPG (rebounds per game), and 9.3 APG

(assists per game). His ability to be a playmaker as a center while being a beast in

the paint, with a field goal percentage of 57.5%, makes him an All-Star caliber player

Lastly, Kevin Durant. Though playing for a struggling Phoenix Suns team, 8th

in the Western Conference, Durant has been playing well this season. So far,

he has scored 29 PPG, with about 6.4 RPG and 5.8 APG. In addition, his shooting

splits illustrate his persona as a scoring machine. He is shooting 52.6% from

the field, and 47.% from beyond the arc.
